What We Believe
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God so long as it is properly translated. The Bible declares in Psalm119:89 "For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven". We believe the Bible contains all we need for the revelation of who God is, how He revealed himself in the past, and how He reveals himself to us now. We believe the Bible contains all we need to know regarding salvation and living a life that is pleasing to Him.
We believe in one God who has always revealed himself to mankind in singular form. Deuteronomy 6:4 states " Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God its one LORD. When Jesus was asked what is the greatest commandment he quoted this same passage. The God we serve is numerically, indivisibly, one. God declared through the prophet Isaiah as recorded in chapter 43 verse 11 "I, even I, am the Lord: and beside me there is no savior." See also Isaiah 45:21. The book of Isaiah is replete with scriptures stating the fact there is only on God.
We believe the same God who delivered the children of Israel from Egyptian bondage, who is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, who spoke through the prophets and other men and women of God still speaks to us today. We believe God has revealed himself as Father in creation, as the Son in redemption, and as the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit in regeneration. In the epistle to the Hebrews chapter 1 verses 1 through 3 states "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken to us by his son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds, Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high."
